Blending Dance and Aerial Artistry Since 2005

C5 was incorporated in September of 2005 with the goal of creating a fusion of art between dance choreography and aerial acrobatics.

A life-altering event

Company president and CEO, Jeremy Plummer, chose the name of the company to commemorate a life-altering event in his past that is offered here as testament to the sort of daring and adventurous work C5 specializes in. While cliff diving in the Caribbean, Jeremy struck his head on a sand bar, fracturing one of the vertebrae in his neck.

The medical personnel in Barbados, however, were unable to identify the fracture, and Jeremy returned home to Chicago several days later. When x-rays revealed the extent of the damage, Jeremy was rushed into surgery where doctors pinned the broken vertebrae (C5) and fused it to C6 for stability. Undaunted by the accident and unwilling to accept physical limitations, Jeremy chose to take up aerial performance both as a means to recover his strength after he had recovered from surgery and as a tool to sharpen his skills and challenge himself to move his creativity into dynamic new arenas. This is where C5 “create with no limits” was born, in the fusion of passion and skill that transcends physical restraints and proves how Jeremy, like his creativity, has no limits.

C5 specializes in training dancers to execute this fusion of art forms regardless of whether or not they have prior aerial experience. The company also excels at developing dance choreography and providing direction for events of any magnitude and in any venue; from stage productions to trade shows; corporate events and motion pictures to Master Classes. Whatever your vision, C5 can make it happen.

The C5 Creative Team

A passionate collective of visionaries, choreographers, designers, and innovators dedicated to transforming imagination into unforgettable live experiences.

Jeremy Plummer

Director, Choreographer & Founder of C5

Jeremy Plummer’s journey began as a gifted dancer, gymnast, and diver—disciplines that laid the foundation for his signature, gravity-defying style. As a celebrated performer with the renowned River North Chicago Dance Company, Jeremy brought to life the works of many iconic choreographers during his time with the company. His talent was showcased in the company’s Emmy Award-winning documentary River North Rising, as well as in the films Vanilla CityThe Visitor, and Road to Perdition.

Fueled by an unstoppable creative drive, Jeremy founded C5 – Create With No Limits, where his bold artistic vision powers productions that fuse aerial artistry, contemporary dance, and immersive theatrical storytelling. As a director, choreographer, and aerial innovator, he has revolutionized live entertainment across nearly every continent.

Jeremy has choreographed and directed more than 40 productions worldwide—ranging from critically acclaimed dance company works and film sequences to high-impact corporate spectacles and gala experiences. A true pioneer in his field, he directed the world’s first-ever aqua show at sea—an award-winning, genre-defying production featuring Olympic-level divers, synchronized swimmers, aerialists, and acrobats. Its global success not only led to an even more celebrated sequel but helped secure Royal Caribbean’s place as the #1 cruise line in entertainment. Jeremy raised the bar again with the creation of the first fully aerial production show at sea, a groundbreaking feat that redefined the future of onboard performance.

Under his leadership, C5 has delivered awe inspired “living art” installations, interactive brand activations, and large-scale spectacles for product launches, national sales meetings, NFL Super Bowl events, and global campaigns with the leading Fortune 500 companies. Known for pushing creative and technical limits, Jeremy incorporates innovations like 3D video mapping, programmable LED costuming, and massive custom aerial structures—transforming each event into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Jeremy’s impact extends far beyond the stage. He co-founded the nonprofit C5 Artists Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to supporting the dance community through funding for health initiatives and continued education. Through scholarships, mentorships, and performance opportunities, the foundation provides access and support to young artists—helping ensure the future of dance remains diverse, dynamic, and inclusive.

His contributions to the art form have earned him some of the industry’s highest honors. A long-time favorite of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Jeremy received their prestigious Artistic Achievement Award in 2013—becoming one of the youngest recipients in the organization’s history. His original choreographic works have also been recognized at national dance festivals and choreography competitions, earning multiple awards for innovation and excellence in direction.

Jeremy continues to teach and inspire across the country, sharing his expertise with aspiring dancers, educators, and national champions in disciplines spanning cheer, aerobics, and solo performance.  He has judged the Miss Indiana Pageant for the Miss America Organization.   His youth-focused work includes the groundbreaking dance-theater evening long work “Teenage Wasteland” for Minnesota Ballet Theater, which explored identity, pressure, and self-discovery through bold movement and storytelling.

With heart, vision, and fearless creativity, Jeremy Plummer continues to redefine what live entertainment can be—while shaping the next generation of artists and performers to dream without limits.

She decided to move from her hometown of Boulder, CO to Santa Clara, CA at the age of sixteen to pursue synchronized swimming at an elite level.  She qualified for the U.S. National Team at age nineteen, was a member of five U.S. national championship teams, and competed in international competitions all over the world. Layla was recruited to participate in a workshop with the show Le Reve in Las Vegas in 2010.

She accepted and soon after was hired as an artist.  Le Reve opened Layla’s eyes to the world of high-level circus productions, and she was immediately hooked.  She went on to train as an artist for Cirque du Soleil in Montreal and joined the cast of ‘O’ in 2013. Several years later, Layla decided to transition from performing as an artist to exploring other avenues in life.
